Lozenge camouflage form the underside of a WWI Fokker D.VII. During the First World War, the art and science of aerial camouflage was developed. The Imperial German Air Force developed a lozenge camouflage, that was reminiscent of pointillist neo-impressionist painters such as George Surat.
